Carpano Classico

Carpano was founded in 1786 by Antonio Benedetto Carpano, who owned a wine bar in the center of Turin on the Piazza Castello. Based upon that original original recipe, this is a robust and versatile Sweet Vermouth (and a less intense, more user friendly version of the famous Antica Formula).

Starting with a base of Moscato wines from Piedmont, stronger wines from more southern regions of Italy (Emilia-Romagna, Puglia, and Sicily) are also used to add a dark aromatic essence. Its colour derives from the combination of the wine base and the 100% natural burnt sugar. Its spicy, citrusy hints come together in a harmonious blend of flavours, complimenting the wormwood notes on the finish, which give this classic vermouth a balanced and smooth unique taste.
