GlenDronach 14 Year Boynsmill House Edition is a limited release Highland single malt Scotch whisky created for the distillery's 200th anniversary. It is named for Boynsmill House, the historic estate where founder James Allardice established GlenDronach in 1826. Aged 14 years, it is matured in the distillery's signature Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso sherry casks, then finished in a small selection of Claret red wine casks. Bottled at 46.8% ABV (93.6 proof) in a 700mL bottle and presented in an illustrated anniversary gift box. Nose: Toffee, roasted nuts and dark bramble fruit, with plump raisins, soft stone fruit and a hint of Christmas cake. Palate: Rich and velvety, with prunes, sultanas and candied nuts layered over creamy milk chocolate and a gentle malt backbone. The Claret casks add brighter red berry fruit. Finish: Long and warming, with caramel, cocoa, baking spices and a touch of tannic oak. Best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water, and an ideal bottle for collectors and sherry cask lovers.
